Position Title: Senior Financial Operations Leader

Role Summary:

The Senior Financial Operations Leader is expected to possess extensive experience in executing the responsibilities of a top-tier Financial Associate while also taking on supervisory and training roles for the Financial Associate team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the bank's esteemed reputation by delivering exceptional service and support to both customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently assess customer needs and excel in promoting additional products across various business lines offered by the bank, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of both personal and commercial offerings.
  • Manage vault operations: including ordering and shipping currency; ensuring daily balance.
  • Oversee supply orders and maintenance (or delegate as necessary).
  • Conduct internal audits of cash drawers, bait money, reserve checks, loan disbursement checks, traveler checks, and gift cards.
  • Supervise scheduling for Financial Associates, monitor overtime, manage branch closing schedules, assist with discrepancies, and provide necessary counseling.
  • Train and oversee Financial Associates on relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a retention log on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Accurately process all transactions.
  • Review New Account files.
  • Ensure precise completion of opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain logs for combinations and keys.
  • Conduct monthly security checks.
  • Balance ATMs.
  • Ensure all logs are accurately completed daily and approve them.
  • Manage the ordering and shipping of foreign currency.
  • Obtain necessary approvals from Officers.
  • Maintain reminders for scheduling and teller duties.
  • Recognize and report suspicious activities.
  • Address and resolve any employee or customer inquiries.
  • Encourage Financial Associates to maintain professionalism and friendliness.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of available products.
  • Understand and comply with relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to BSA, CIP, FACT Act, USA Patriot Act, Reg CC, Reg DD, and Reg E.
  • Occasionally assist the Customer Service Representative with new account openings.
  • Prepare reports and data for management as requested.
  • Handle incoming calls professionally and courteously.
  • Greet and acknowledge all customers entering the office promptly.
  • Provide various account services, including processing deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing withdrawals, and handling night and mail deposits.
  • Complete special requests such as check orders, official check preparation, currency exchanges, and safe-deposit box procedures.
  • Verify endorsements, identify proper identification, ensure validity, and detect counterfeit currency.
  • Evaluate deposited checks and determine fund availability based on regulations, issuing hold notices as necessary.
  • Balance cash drawers periodically throughout the day and at least once daily.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in banking or cash handling preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds. The employee will regularly sit, talk, hear, and use hands for various tasks. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing may be required. Vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, consistent with a standard retail branch setting.
