Senior Financial Operations Leader

Role Summary:

The Senior Financial Operations Leader is expected to possess extensive experience in executing the responsibilities of a top-tier Financial Associate while also overseeing and mentoring a team of Financial Associates. This role is crucial in maintaining the bank's esteemed reputation by delivering exceptional service and support to both clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently assess customer needs and excel in promoting additional products across various banking sectors.
  • Manage vault operations: order and ship currency; ensure daily balance.
  • Order and oversee supply inventory (or delegate as necessary).
  • Conduct internal audits of cash drawers, bait money, reserve checks, loan disbursement checks, traveler checks, and gift cards.
  • Supervise: manage Financial Associate leave schedules, monitor overtime, assign branch closing duties, assist with discrepancies, and provide necessary counseling.
  • Train and guide Financial Associates on relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a Monthly/Yearly Retention log.
  • Process all transactions accurately.
  • Review New Account files.
  • Ensure compliance with opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain Combo & Key Logs.
  • Conduct monthly security checks.
  • Balance ATMs.
  • Ensure daily logs are completed and approved.
  • Manage the ordering and shipping of foreign currency.
  • Obtain necessary approvals from Officers.
  • Maintain scheduling reminders for teller duties.
  • Identify and report suspicious activities.
  • Address and resolve employee and customer inquiries.
  • Encourage Financial Associates to maintain professionalism and friendliness.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of available products.
  • Understand relevant laws and regulations, including BSA, CIP, FACT Act, USA Patriot Act, Reg CC, Reg DD, and Reg E.
  • Occasionally assist the Customer Service Representative with new account openings.
  • Prepare reports and data for Management as needed.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally.
  • Greet and acknowledge all customers entering the office with courtesy.
  • Provide various account services, including processing deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, and handling special requests.
  • Verify endorsements and identification, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Assess deposited checks for proper funds availability and issue hold notices as required.
  • Balance cash drawers throughout the day and at the end of each day.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of banking or cash handling experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds. The employee will frequently sit, talk, hear, and use hands for various tasks. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing may be required. Vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, resembling a standard retail banking setting.
