About the Role:

The American Red Cross is seeking a skilled Gift Planning and Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in securing major gifts and planned giving opportunities to support our lifesaving mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive gift planning strategy to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts and planned giving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, prospects, and other stakeholders to advance the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to leverage resources and expertise to achieve development goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and maximize fundraising effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in gift planning, development, or a related field.
  • Strong relationships-building and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
