The Customer Engagement Specialist fosters a welcoming atmosphere through outstanding customer service. Team members at Planet Fitness are committed to providing exceptional support for both potential and existing members, as well as their guests. This role necessitates a responsible and results-oriented leader who prioritizes quality assurance and efficiency in managing daily club operations, including but not limited to: daily financial reconciliation, cleanliness, retail management, and club security.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Welcome members, prospective members, and guests
- Consistently and proficiently execute all front desk tasks, including:
- Answering phones in a friendly manner and assisting callers with various inquiries
- Addressing member questions and concerns promptly and professionally
- Validating member check-ins and ensuring accounts are in good standing
- Managing member accounts, including enrollment, upgrades, downgrades, cancellations, freezes, payments, retail sales, refunds, and transfers
- Conducting tours of the facility for prospective members
- Maintain a clean and safe club environment through diligent sanitation and awareness
- Ensure effective operation and security of club membership, policies, and property
- Must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Demonstrated honesty and integrity
- Punctual and dependable
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues
- Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize, problem-solve, and uphold club policies
- Exhibit diplomacy in all interactions, using appropriate behavior and language
- Willingness to learn and be coached
- Team-oriented with a consistently positive and professional demeanor
- Experience in customer service and/or point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Competitive, results-driven individual with a background in fitness and/or sports
- Passionate about health and fitness
- Interest or experience in business administration and/or financial accounting
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent verbal communication in person or over the phone
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals
