About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in South Elgin, Illinois. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist the surgeon and other team members as needed, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Participate in the surgical Time Out and ensure all team members are aware of the procedure and patient information.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care and advocate for patient welfare.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a surgical technologist program or 2 years of surgical scrub experience.
  • CPR certification and ability to obtain Certified Surgical Technologist certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Ability to work with exposure to body fluids, waste, and chemicals, and to respond quickly to emergencies.
