Position Overview
This role is based onsite and focuses on providing technical expertise to gear manufacturing operations and inspection teams, utilizing engineering knowledge to enhance quality standards for gears and splines.

Key Responsibilities
1. Utilize UTS Gear Engineering software for size calculations, dxf file creation, and designing long lead tooling, as well as generating plots of gear teeth and other necessary data for process sheets.
2. Develop and maintain NC programs for gear hobbers, shapers, grinders, and inspection machinery.
3. Assist in the design of hobs, cutters, and grinding wheels.
4. Establish and maintain cutting parameters on process sheets for gear machining.
5. Innovate and improve manufacturing methods (DFMA).
6. Assess equipment and processes to ensure they meet part requirements, leading or assisting projects to upgrade, replace, and procure new machinery.
7. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance productivity, safety, quality, and delivery timelines.
8. Support the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to ensure product functionality and cost efficiency, while interpreting quality standards and specifications.
9. Manage requisitions for all gear cutting tools.
10. Participate in pre-production product-design reviews to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
11. Assist with routing operation sequences, PFMEAs, and cost estimations.
12. Create, maintain, and document setup sheets using SOLIDWORKS for numerically controlled machines.
13. Determine machine speeds, feed rates, and cutting configurations using vendor-specific software.

Technical Support
Provide technical assistance for the rebuilding, upgrading, and enhancement of existing equipment, including the replacement of worn machinery and procurement of new tools to support the manufacturing of products.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) preferred; an Associate's degree or equivalent with Journeyman's status or 8 years of experience in machine trades will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in gear manufacturing is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), UTS Software, and CAD Design software.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and other manufacturing departments.
- Strong multitasking abilities and good time management/organizational skills.
