Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $90,000 annually.

Position Objective:
The role involves executing process optimization engineering tasks and providing expertise in process control, alongside managing small to mid-scale projects in collaboration with operations, maintenance, clients, and external partners. The goal is to ensure optimal plant performance and adherence to water quality standards through the development and implementation of process control management systems. This includes the collection and organization of process data and equipment maintenance records, as well as reviewing and adjusting process control orders and standard operating procedures as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate pilot plant activities with clients, consultants, and steering committees, including drafting meeting agendas, maintaining minutes, and presenting data.
  • Oversee daily operations of pilot test units.
  • Conduct field data collection and sampling.
  • Organize and normalize process data.
  • Identify trends in process data and present findings in reports and presentations.
  • Manage chemical handling, including batching and dosage adjustments.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance aligns with manufacturer recommendations and is functioning correctly.
  • Supervise maintenance staff in their responsibilities as needed.
  • Prepare routine reports on process performance, documenting treatment efficacy, plant production, and associated costs.
  • Adhere to safe work plans related to assigned tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
The employee may encounter moving mechanical parts, fumes, unpleasant odors, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Regular exposure to wet and humid conditions, outdoor weather, and vibrations is expected. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Preferred prior work or internship experience related to the field.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of principles and operations related to water or wastewater treatment processes and equipment, including microfiltration and reverse osmosis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or Visio.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and eager to learn, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Able to interpret equipment operations and maintenance manuals.
  • Competent in presenting data in both written and oral formats, comfortable with public speaking.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and work demands, including varying schedules.
  • Available for after-hours call-outs and flexible work schedules, including nights and weekends.

Certifications:

  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, sit, use hands, reach, and balance.
  • May need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to distinguish colors and focus on close and distant objects.
  • Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hard hats will be provided and must be worn.
