Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Project Manager to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our infrastructure development team, you will be responsible for managing all activities related to the successful delivery of assigned small and medium-sized capital infrastructure projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of assigned capital expenditure projects in accordance with project schedules and budgets.
  • Design and draft plans for pump stations, pressure reducing stations, pipelines, and other water system facilities.
  • Develop and manage project plans, specifications, cost estimates, bidding documents, and oversee construction for assigned projects.
  • Participate in and contribute to short and long-term system planning for Veolia Hyperion operations.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Coordinator to accomplish design and construction oversight for assigned facilities on new developments.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure accurate and timely plan reviews of assigned facilities for new developments.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Planner to effectively coordinate and schedule work and projects.
  • Manage and coordinate project closeout and acceptance with operations personnel.
  • Perform actual cost vs. estimate look-back assessments on completed projects.
  • Work with agencies, landowners, and legal staff to obtain easements, long-term leases, crossings, permits, and the like for planned facilities.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to management regarding the status of capital projects and issues affecting project performance.
  • Develop and propose solutions to correct project performance deficiencies.
  • Respond to fire flow requests.
  • Participate in the development of engineering design and delivery processes and standards.
  • Review designs by others to assure conformance with company standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or training, and/or work experience.
  • Years of experience in project management or project delivery work.
  • 3 years of AutoCAD experience.
  • Experience in water or wastewater system design, maintenance, and/or operations preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong AutoCAD skills required.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate key project stakeholders.
  • Strong team and project management skills (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing) with the ability to delegate work, hold individuals accountable, set goals, evaluate performance, and encourage collaboration.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good risk management skills with ability to foresee problems and develop and deliver solutions.
  • Good organization, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to function in the digital world, using computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone devices, and software to communicate, perform, and record work.
  • Financial analysis skills, including budget management, ongoing assessment of project risk/opportunities, project close-out, and look-back, and basic accounting knowledge.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Grade III or higher in Wastewater certification preferred.
  • Project management courses or certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Ability to obtain PMP certification within 1 year of employment is required.
