Position Overview: Mechanical Project Director

icon Mechanical is on the lookout for experienced professionals to enhance our Project Management division. As a specialized contractor in HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing systems, we cater to a wide array of clients across multiple sectors including healthcare, commercial, industrial, and institutional.

We are in search of a Mechanical Project Director to oversee our Project Management operations. The ideal candidate will possess over 8 years of experience in a leadership role such as Senior Mechanical Project Manager or Mechanical Project Director. We value individuals who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, high energy, and a commitment to project excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project financial performance and ensure regular reporting to executive management.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including clients, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress and evaluate key performance indicators related to scheduling and productivity.
  • Lead teams on intricate mechanical projects, ensuring successful execution from inception to completion.
  • Guarantee compliance with safety and quality standards throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with the Design and Engineering teams to formulate effective project strategies.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, providing insights to the project management team.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Guide the development of comprehensive project schedules for contracted work.
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance their performance and achieve team objectives.
  • Participate actively in strategic planning initiatives within the company.
  • Work alongside other leaders to assess workforce requirements for ongoing and future projects.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Construction Project Management (HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in Construction Management.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, BlueBeam, P6 preferred; Viewpoint and Autodesk are a plus).
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating and the ability to apply this knowledge for project scheduling.
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction documents.
  • A personal commitment to achieving long-term and meaningful objectives.
