Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Outreach and Government Affairs Officer in developing and implementing programs, projects, and services to address regional priorities and strengthen organizational resources.
  • Identify and secure grant funding to address unmet regional needs, particularly in areas such as Broadband, Housing, and Healthcare.
  • Research successful implementation projects related to Broadband, Housing, and Healthcare for potential pilot projects in the H-GAC region.
  • Explore the needs of local member governments and assist with executing events and meetings to further the implementation of agency initiatives.
  • Support the Outreach and Government Affairs department with additional needs in advancing H-GAC programs and services.

Requirements

  • Excellent ability to prioritize, adapt, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work internally and externally with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of local government functions and responsibilities.
  • Ability to develop and deploy innovative projects.
  • Exceptional customer service and business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in business administration, political science, organizational management, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience working with local governments, nonprofit programs, schools, or related duties.
  • Two years of project management or progressively responsible work experience.
  • Previous experience in deploying Broadband, Housing, or Healthcare initiatives.
  • Previous track record of identifying and securing grant applications for local governments or nonprofit entities.
