The Creativity Apps division is seeking a dedicated software QA engineer with expertise in photography and video editing to enhance the development of groundbreaking tools for creative professionals and visual storytellers.
This role demands a proactive individual with exceptional creative, technical, and analytical abilities, coupled with a passion for emerging technologies in computer vision and on-device machine learning.
Key Responsibilities:In this position, you will take charge of planning, designing, maintaining, and executing test cases with minimal supervision. Your capability to conduct exploratory testing without relying on scripts or tools will be crucial. Identifying bugs with precise isolation and regression methods will be vital for your success.
This role involves managing a diverse array of deliverables, requiring you to prioritize effectively and communicate progress and risks in a systematic manner.
Your ongoing curiosity and commitment to self-learning in photography and video technologies, as well as innovative testing methodologies, will distinguish you in this role.
You will collaborate closely with team members to coordinate cross-functional testing efforts and maintain continuous communication with Engineering and Design teams as products evolve. Understanding user needs will enable you to advocate effectively on their behalf.
Essential Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer
- Proficient in digital photography and video, with a deep understanding of image editing software
- Active engagement with photo/video communication in educational or social media contexts
- Strong grasp of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and QA processes
- Familiarity with subjective and objective image quality assessment and color science concepts is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of computational photography and machine learning is a plus
3-5 years of experience in product QA environments or related fields is required. Familiarity with scripting languages or photo/video editing applications is highly preferred.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
- Skilled in translating software feature descriptions into effective test plans and cases
- Proven ability in bug detection, isolation, and regression
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Capability to convey technical details to varied audiences
- Familiarity with iOS and macOS platforms
- Scripting knowledge (Swift, Python, JavaScript, etc.) is beneficial
- Understanding of UX principles
At Apple, base pay is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth and development within your role.
The base pay range for this position is between $112,900 and $234,700, with actual pay depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases.
