Software Quality Assurance Specialist

The SPEAR team within Apple's Security Engineering & Architecture division is seeking a dedicated Software Quality Assurance Specialist who is passionate about ensuring the excellence of innovative software security functionalities.
About the Team
The SPEAR team is a group of skilled engineers focused on enhancing security across all of Apple's operating systems. We engage with diverse codebases throughout the software stack, developing significant and impactful security features that necessitate thorough testing and execution to ensure seamless integration.

Your Role
As a Quality Assurance Specialist in the SPEAR team, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with feature teams to comprehend feature objectives, the components being altered, and their interactions with the broader system. Engaging with client teams to understand their reliance on the affected components.
- Facilitating coordination among partner teams to guarantee project success.
- Crafting detailed feature test plans to ensure that objectives are met without compromising functionality, performance, power efficiency, or stability.
- Developing new tests as necessary to achieve comprehensive coverage.
- Reporting on testing progress and ensuring that any regressions are promptly addressed.
We are looking for candidates with:
- A minimum of 3 years of QA experience in iOS and/or macOS environments.
- Proven experience in managing QA projects and creating test plans that identify critical software defects.
- Strong bug reporting capabilities.
- Analytical skills to independently conduct initial assessments of test failures.
- A meticulous approach to understanding, documenting, and executing test requirements.
- Effective communication skills for discussing technical topics clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At Apple, base pay is one component of our total compensation package, determined within a range that allows for growth and development within the role. The base pay range for this position is between $112,900 and $234,700, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases.
