The Video Applications Quality Assurance team at Apple is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality of our innovative video editing tools designed for creative professionals and visual storytellers.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, your primary duties will include:
- Developing, planning, and executing both manual and automated test cases utilizing Python and/or Swift.
- Enhancing quality assurance processes and implementing improvements to ensure robust feature releases.
- Identifying and documenting bugs with precision, employing advanced isolation and regression techniques.
- Managing multiple priorities effectively while communicating progress and potential risks to the team.
- Continuously expanding your knowledge in video and photo technologies, as well as new testing methodologies.
- Collaborating with team members to coordinate comprehensive testing efforts across various functions.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in software automation or development.
- Expertise in testing mobile and desktop applications, frameworks, and backend APIs.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Swift.
- A thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with audio and media technologies.
- Familiarity with video and photo editing tools.
- Proficiency in both iOS and macOS environments.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- A meticulous and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong skills in balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Capability to translate user scenarios into effective test plans and cases.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge of HDR and SDR video standards.
- Familiarity with editing software such as Final Cut Pro and iMovie.
