About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Culinary Team Member to join our team at Taziki's Cafe. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare fresh food items daily and accurately, adhering to our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Station Setup and Stocking: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, ensuring a smooth and efficient service.
  • Menu and Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our menu and products, including ingredients, preparation methods, and nutritional information.
  • Order Management: Manage orders efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to our customers.
  • Catering Orders: Prepare and deliver catering orders to our customers, meeting their specific needs and expectations.
  • Food Handling and Storage: Maintain proper food handling and storage procedures, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Hygiene and Appearance: Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to our high standards of appearance and uniform.
  • Health Department Standards: Maintain health department standards throughout each shift, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and staff.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain kitchen, dish, and prep areas, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Shift-Side Work: Perform shift-side work, including opening and closing duties, to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Training and Development: Complete all course certifications for Kitchen Team Members in our training platform, ensuring a thorough understanding of our procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience: Experienced preferred but not required - we will train you.
  • Knife Skills: Proper knife skills are essential for this role.
  • Kitchen Equipment: Ability to operate all necessary kitchen equipment.
  • Communication: Good communication skills are essential for this role.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independence and Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team as necessary.
  • Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with passion and urgency.
  • Dependability and Reliability: Dependable and reliable, with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering results.

Working Conditions and Hours

A typical work day at Taziki's Cafe may include:

  • Morning shift - 8am - 4pm
  • Evenings - 4pm - 10pm
  • Weekends - when applicable
  • Holidays - when applicable (always CLOSED Thanksgiving & Christmas)

Hours will vary by store. You'll work in a typical restaurant kitchen environment, which includes but is not limited to using equipment such as a flattop and char grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged Standing: Prolonged standing is required for this role.
  • Bending and Stooping: Bending and stooping are required for this role.
  • Twisting: Twisting is required for this role.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds is required for this role.
  • Cooking: Cooking is a key responsibility for this role.
