Client Services Coordinator

The Client Services Manager plays a pivotal role in the Office of Housing Stability (OHS), working closely with the Deputy Directors to oversee the direct services aspect of the organization. This position is essential in ensuring that residents receive exceptional services. The Client Services Manager will directly supervise case management personnel, additional service staff, and administrative teams as designated by the Director.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are representative of the work that may be performed in this role:
- Collaborate with the management team and Senior Case Manager to onboard and supervise administrative and case management staff.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to OHS personnel, ensuring operational consistency.
- Draft and evaluate performance plans and reviews for supervised staff.
- Establish and periodically revise protocols for office and client services.
- Coordinate case assignments and referrals for complex cases involving multiple households.
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with interdepartmental and external partners, acting as a liaison to various community agencies.
- Facilitate the provision of information regarding landlord/tenant issues.
- Assist in ongoing training initiatives for staff.
- Represent OHS at public engagements as assigned by the Director.
- Support the Director in managing direct service staff coverage during absences.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree with three to five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master's degree in public policy, social work, business, or public administration is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Massachusetts housing law and affordable housing programs.
- Skills: Strong organizational, supervisory, and data management skills, with proficiency in office software.
- Abilities: Effective communication skills, ability to handle emergencies, and maintain confidentiality.
The work environment is typical of an office setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor elements. Employees may need to work beyond standard hours for meetings or project completion. Flexibility regarding work arrangements may be required.
Physical and Mental RequirementsPhysical demands are minimal, primarily involving sitting, with occasional walking and lifting of light objects. Mental demands include reading and analyzing documents regularly.
Compensation and BenefitsThis is a full-time position with an annual salary of $82,806.06, plus benefits. The City of Somerville offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.
