Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Dirty Habit Washington DC. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless service and exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare meals to meet guest specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
Accurately measure kitchen ingredients and food portions.
Ensure the kitchen team adheres to established standards, procedures, and sanitation requirements.
Utilize kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers, and warmers effectively.
Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality.
Maintain proper food temperatures during cooking and storage.
Keep workstations and kitchen equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
Handle kitchen opening, closing, and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
Assist with hiring and training new kitchen team members.

Qualifications:

Formal culinary training in food preparation and culinary management preferred. Candidates with high school diplomas and extensive on-the-job experience will also be considered.
Relevant licenses or certifications as required by local and state agencies for food production and management.
Minimum of 2 years of formal culinary experience or food service management in a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen.
Demonstrated experience using kitchen equipment and a thorough understanding of various cooking methods, food preparation techniques, and sanitation procedures.
