Position Overview

BHE GT&S is seeking a dedicated Associate LNG Technician (Instrumentation) to join our team at the Cove Point Facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of our liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, focusing on instrumentation and controls.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate LNG Technician (Instrumentation) will report to the Instrument Supervisor and work within a diverse team responsible for the management of LNG import/export and re-gasification processes. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to operational protocols. Key duties include:
  • Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance inspections using specialized testing equipment.
  • Performing flue gas testing and accurately recording results.
  • Executing engineering tasks related to control loop modifications.
  • Maintaining up-to-date documentation regarding instrumentation systems.
  • Implementing control system upgrades and modifications as necessary.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior technicians and addressing operational concerns.
  • Assisting in the loading and unloading processes of LNG vessels.
  • Participating in environmental safety training and adhering to security protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Working in a rotational shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Qualifications

Associate LNG Technician (Instrumentation)
  • 0-2 years of experience in an industrial environment with hands-on mechanical skills.
LNG Technician (Instrumentation)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in instrumentation and controls within an industrial setting.
Sr. LNG Technician (Instrumentation)
  • Five years of relevant experience in industrial and controls environments, including military experience.
  • Understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and LNG process systems.
  • Familiarity with plant utilities such as air, water, and power generation.
  • Knowledge of automatic control instruments and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Experience with environmental regulations and lab equipment calibration.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience in LNG, petrochemical, or cryogenic processing.
Education and Certifications

Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology is preferred. Candidates without a degree should have relevant work experience.

All candidates must maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
