Position Overview

As a Project Engineering Specialist, you will oversee both the administrative and technical components of project construction, leading a team of field and cost engineers.

Location

This position will be based out of our Energy Corridor Office and will require travel to support OGC projects on-site.


Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multi-discipline engineering teams by fostering collaboration, setting clear direction, and coordinating with procurement and construction districts.
  • Maintain comprehensive ownership of engineering execution to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Support project change management processes to ensure clarity in project scope, schedule, and budgets.
  • Establish project procedures that align with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering tasks; oversee engineering project controls, schedules, and budgets.
  • Act as the engineering representative in interactions with customers, constructors, subcontractors, and vendors during kick-off meetings, job walks, project reviews, and other stakeholder engagements.
  • Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure adherence to engineering procedures.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with project stakeholders, making necessary adjustments to meet project needs within contractual obligations.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with industry codes and standards, adhering to best engineering practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to mid-level and senior engineers and/or project engineers to foster professional development.
  • Utilize Kiewit's unique project controls environment along with industry knowledge to manage engineering progress and performance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant field or project engineering experience, particularly in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors.
  • Proficient in using software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with project controls terminology and scheduling processes.
  • Professional Engineer License is desirable.
  • Highly motivated with a strong commitment to excellence and initiative.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, with a focus on delivering quality results on the first attempt.
