Position Overview:
The Project Engineering Specialist is responsible for developing, detailing, and finalizing the technical design of projects while overseeing various project management activities.

This role requires the creation of comprehensive project-specific documentation, including process flow diagrams, instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement drawings, structural and electrical schematics, data sheets, bills of materials, and operational reference literature.

Key Responsibilities:
The Project Engineering Specialist will take the lead in coordinating with other engineering support teams (process, instrumentation, controls, design/drafting, and procurement) to ensure all tasks are completed effectively to support the final product delivery.

The role involves managing project functions in collaboration with clients and various departments within Enerflex, ensuring all engineering and procurement activities align with the detailed responsibilities outlined below:

  • Collaborate with the Applications Team and Engineering Team to transition all relevant data post-project award.
  • Identify and address customer requirements, providing effective solutions to technical and execution challenges.
  • Clarify technical issues with clients and facilitate resolutions.
  • Lead internal design efforts and make critical technical decisions.
  • Develop project P&IDs and requisition major equipment while coordinating all deliverables.
  • Engage in design reviews with the project team.
  • Generate engineered Bills of Material for assigned project components.
  • Plan and manage all engineering activities effectively.
  • Oversee and schedule the drawing list submitted to clients.
  • Monitor technical issues through to shipment and commissioning as necessary.
  • Manage and control the engineering hours allocated to the project.

Project Management:
Provide regular updates on engineering issues and progress for all assigned components.

Design & Drafting:
Coordinate and approve all design and drafting outputs.

Project Engineering:
Act as the technical liaison with suppliers to obtain quotations for all assigned components.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of Project Engineering experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 3 years of experience is required. Candidates should possess industrial experience in centrifugal compressors, along with knowledge in refrigeration, gas processing, cryogenic plants, or CO2 systems.
Fluency in English is essential, along with strong analytical problem-solving abilities and excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:
This role operates in a fast-paced office environment with tasks that often require immediate attention. Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary, and candidates may be exposed to confidential information. Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
