This position reports to

Engineering Manager - Marine Systems

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will serve as a design authority within an engineering discipline. Daily, you will engage in tasks across various projects of moderate complexity or segments of significant projects in a cost-efficient manner. You will demonstrate your expertise by ensuring that tasks are completed in line with contract specifications, quality benchmarks, safety protocols, and cybersecurity standards. This role contributes to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with clients to shape and implement solutions while actively seeking feedback to drive enhancements.
• Developing work plans and cost projections for the project portfolio, ensuring quality and timely execution within budget constraints.
• Coordinating with relevant departments to guarantee that designs are appropriately manufactured, staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.
• Mentoring engineering peers on the conversion of conceptual designs into engineering documentation, best practices, and insights gained from previous projects.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with over 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Design Verification expertise
  • Experience in MV & LV Switchgear design
  • Proficiency in Power System studies using ETAP or SKM
  • Technical Writing skills (Function descriptions and technical specifications)
  • Familiarity with EPlan or AutoCAD
  • Experience with MATLAB
  • Background in Marine System design
  • Knowledge of Low voltage Variable frequency drive design, calculations, and operations
  • Candidates must possess work authorization allowing them to work for ABB in the US.
