This position reports to

Engineering Manager - Marine Systems

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will have the chance to serve as a design authority for an engineering discipline characterized by low to medium complexity. Daily, you will engage in tasks related to small projects or segments of larger initiatives in a cost-effective manner. You will demonstrate your expertise by implementing basic design thinking and design for excellence principles in your projects. This role contributes to the Process Automation Marine & Ports division. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Assessing, selecting, and applying standard techniques and methodologies to execute engineering tasks.
• Offering technical assistance for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Aiding in the preparation of proposals and presentations for engineering projects.
• Utilizing checklists to conduct design verification in accordance with applicable standards and engineering guidelines.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Systems with a preference for candidates possessing over 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Marine Industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of LV Switchgear design.
  • Expertise in UPS Design and Integration.
  • Proficiency in EPlan or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB.
  • Understanding of FE.
  • Experience in low voltage Variable Frequency Drive design, calculations, and operations.
  • Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
