The Event Operations Manager position offers an exciting opportunity to become part of our esteemed and talented team. Objective of the Event Operations Manager: To effectively oversee and enhance the daily operations of the Events Department. This includes providing leadership and support to the banquet team, Catering and Convention Services team, and the Convention Services floor department. You will also work closely with all hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution, resulting in an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Events Department while collaborating with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel divisions.
  • Supervise, empower, and motivate the banquet team, including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants, to achieve exceptional service standards and employee engagement.
  • Assist the hotel in attaining top service scores on Meeting Planner surveys by ensuring clear communication and understanding with guests and other departments through the review of Banquet Event Orders.
  • Oversee the timely and appropriate setup of all functions and meetings, adhering to food, beverage, and meeting specifications.
  • Proactively assess staffing and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor, and Beverage departments.
  • Maintain a high-energy, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Develop innovative and creative decor for banquet spaces.
  • Manage both short-term and long-term banquet functions in all areas.
  • Foster an environment that upholds the highest standards of quality service through effective hiring, training, and continuous reinforcement.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as payroll facilitation, reporting, forecasting, point of sale procedures, inventory management, and budgeting for food and beverage functions.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with health regulations and corporate standards.
  • Generate ideas for special events and holiday functions.

The Event Operations Manager plays a crucial role within the hotel's overall Food and Beverage team. Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager, Executive Steward, Beverage Manager, and Room Service Manager is essential for ensuring a successful Food & Beverage operation. Experience in these areas will prepare you for advancement to an Assistant Food & Beverage Director role.

Qualifications:

  • This is a full-time management position requiring flexibility, including availability on weekends and holidays.
  • A genuine desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in general computer applications.
  • Candidates should be creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Previous hotel experience and a solid understanding of all levels of banquet service are essential.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience as an Event Services Manager/Assistant, Event Services Captain, or Event Services Supervisor.
  • Must demonstrate strengths such as high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, and exceptional customer service skills.
