Summary
The Event Operations Supervisor will collaborate with the sales team to ensure that service excellence is achieved for every event.

This role involves liaising with various departments to coordinate equipment, staffing, and setup requirements, as well as assisting in the training and oversight of staff during events while managing the daily operations of the venue as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lead Banquet Event Orders (BEO) meetings for all in-house events.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of in-house events.
  • Act as a representative of McKinnon Operating Company in communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for event planning.
  • Engage with guests and members during scheduled events.
  • Determine and recommend fees for special events.
  • Monitor revenues and expenditures, providing insights for future budget planning.

Additionally, the supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Booking and coordinating entertainment for events, including travel and contract negotiations.
  • Overseeing special cultural events such as art shows and music performances.
  • Maintaining an updated client database for effective marketing and public relations.
  • Monitoring guest feedback on various platforms and responding appropriately.

Procurement and Deliveries:
Ensure that all consumable and non-consumable goods are ordered, stored, and inventoried correctly. Verify the quality of deliveries and documentation, ensuring compliance with vendor contracts.

Finance, Cost Control & Budgeting:
Monitor contracts and profitability, ensuring timely receipt of event deposits. Manage food, beverage, and labor costs effectively to meet profit objectives while maintaining high standards of quality in service and cleanliness.

Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of experience in hotel banquet management and five years in food and beverage management. Must be flexible to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
