Position Overview:
As an integral part of our team, you will support the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage in overseeing and coordinating banquet operations to ensure seamless events and foster repeat clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance while addressing issues and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Oversee the arrangement of event spaces, ensuring proper placement of linens, silverware, china, and glassware. Conduct thorough inspections of event areas and equipment prior to functions to guarantee cleanliness and readiness.
  • Maintain effective communication with kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, and engineering teams, as well as event hosts, to ensure timely event execution, high-quality service, and compliance with all safety and health regulations.
  • Input billing details into the point of sale system to produce final guest checks. Manage the posting of banquet checks at the end of each day and assist with payroll processing for events, including calculating hours worked and gratuity distribution.
  • Monitor staff attendance in accordance with schedules, making necessary adjustments to server assignments to uphold service quality during events.
  • Provide clear verbal and written instructions to staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • Understanding of hotel operations, including marketing strategies, safety protocols, personnel management, business planning, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and develop team members while achieving organizational goals.
  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication styles to various audiences.
