Key Responsibilities

As an EHS Specialist, you will be instrumental in the formulation, execution, oversight, and enhancement of our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring alignment with our Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety (QEHS) management framework and adherence to relevant regulatory standards.

  1. Ensure all EHS protocols and policies are in accordance with the QEHS system, supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  2. Cultivate a proactive safety culture, empowering all employees to engage in EHS improvement efforts.
  3. Conduct analyses and reporting on EHS programs, recommending enhancements and maintaining comprehensive compliance tracking systems.
  4. Lead initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of EHS performance, including safety enhancement programs across all operational sites.
  5. Collaborate across departments to develop, implement, and refine EHS programs.
  6. Organize and participate in EHS audits, regulatory inspections, and routine assessments, monitoring trends and outcomes.
  7. Facilitate the management of change process within EHS initiatives, assisting site functions in risk assessments during process modifications.
  8. Address environmental, health, and safety concerns raised by staff and engage in incident investigations, supporting workers' compensation processes as necessary.
  9. Conduct thorough investigations of EHS incidents, performing root cause analyses and risk evaluations to ensure effective resolutions.
  10. Deliver training on various topics, including ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tagout procedures, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment.
  11. Oversee industrial and hazardous waste management tasks, including waste inventories and vendor coordination.
  12. Maintain relationships with external organizations, such as emergency services, to facilitate effective emergency response.
  13. Engage in professional development opportunities through conferences, workshops, and training to enhance competencies.
  14. Perform additional duties as required by the organization.
Qualifications

Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Certifications:
RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification, OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Certification, 24-Hour HAZWOPER/Emergency Spill Response, and other relevant professional accreditations.
