Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Boiler Plant Operator to join our team at Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (MMC). As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our low-pressure steam and hot water generating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain low-pressure steam and hot water generating equipment to ensure proper pressure and steam output.
  • Monitor gauges and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, making adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Execute fuel switches and perform routine maintenance tasks to optimize equipment performance.
  • Conduct water tests and maintain proper chemistry levels to ensure equipment longevity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Record and track equipment readings, steam usage, fuel consumption, and water consumption as required.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, read and interpret technical documents
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Knowledge of state heating and ventilating codes, steam-fitting code, OSHA, and computerized HVAC control systems
  • Skilled in the use and care of mechanical tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minnesota Boiler License-Class 2C, 1C, or Chief C
  • Steam Engineer's License of the required class
