Key Responsibilities

As an EHS Specialist, you will be accountable for the development, execution, monitoring, and enhancement of our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. Your goal will be to ensure that our work environment aligns with the Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety (QEHS) management system and complies with all relevant regulations.

  1. Ensure that all EHS policies and programs are consistent with the QEHS framework, supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  2. Promote a safety culture where every employee is engaged and empowered to contribute to EHS improvements.
  3. Conduct reporting and analysis to recommend enhancements for EHS programs, maintaining comprehensive records for compliance tracking.
  4. Lead initiatives aimed at continuously improving EHS performance, including safety enhancement programs across all sites.
  5. Collaborate across departments to develop, implement, and refine EHS programs.
  6. Plan and execute EHS audits, regulatory inspections, and routine assessments, monitoring trends and outcomes.
  7. Facilitate the management of change process within EHS initiatives, assisting site functions with risk assessments during process modifications.
  8. Address environmental, health, and safety concerns raised by employees and engage in incident investigations.
  9. Conduct thorough investigations of EHS incidents, performing root cause analyses and risk assessments.
  10. Deliver training on topics such as ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tagout procedures, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment.
  11. Oversee industrial and hazardous waste management activities, including waste inventories and vendor coordination.
  12. Maintain relationships with external organizations, such as fire departments, to ensure effective emergency response.
  13. Engage in professional development through conferences, workshops, and training programs to enhance your expertise.
  14. Perform additional duties as required by the business.
Qualifications

Education:
A four-year degree in a field related to Environmental Health and Safety, coupled with 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Certifications:
RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification, OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Certification, 24-Hour HAZWOPER/Emergency Spill Response, and other relevant professional accreditations.
