Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator embodies the core values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adhering to ethical standards and compliance protocols. This role requires an experienced Registered Nurse who not only provides direct patient care but also plays a crucial role in managing interdisciplinary patient care, optimizing patient flow, staffing, and resource management during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee unit operations in accordance with established policies and regulatory standards.
  • Manage staffing assignments to ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Guide nursing staff and support personnel in delivering patient care during specific shifts.
  • Lead initiatives and participate in committees aimed at improving departmental and hospital-wide practices.
  • Engage with patients and their families regarding care processes.
  • Implement strategies to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery.
  • Maintain a secure environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Provide direct nursing care as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Duties: Demonstrate clinical proficiency, assess patient needs, and monitor responses to treatment.
  • Professional Conduct: Uphold a professional demeanor, advocate for patients and the nursing profession, and engage in continuous personal development.
  • Leadership: Foster a safe and clean environment, analyze operational patterns, and ensure effective communication across departments.
  • Education: Identify staff development needs and facilitate orientation for new team members.
  • Research Participation: Ensure research activities are conducted as required and contribute to nursing research initiatives.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years in a clinical specialty.

Preferred:

  • Specialty certification in relevant clinical areas.
  • Additional clinical experience in various healthcare settings.
