Job Summary

  • Facilitate Unit Operations: Ensure that unit operations are conducted in accordance with policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate Staffing Assignments: Coordinate unit-based staffing assignments on a shift basis to achieve high-quality and cost-effective care.
  • Direct Patient Care: Direct patient care provided by staff nurses and support personnel for a specific shift.
  • Champion New Initiatives: Champion new initiatives and help in unit/departmental or hospital-wide committees/task forces.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate directly with patients and significant others about nursing care.
  • Implement Action Plans: Implement appropriate action plans to provide safe, quality, and efficient care.
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Ensure the safety and security of patients, significant others, and staff.
