Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Women's Services Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients, conducting initial and ongoing assessments to develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide family-centered patient teaching, identify and correct variances from the patient care plan, and facilitate discharge planning and teaching.
  • Assist with various procedures, including amniocentesis, versions, vaginal deliveries, vacuum extractions, forcep deliveries, and circulate for cesarean sections.
  • Complete admission interviews, document patient assessments, and report changes in patient condition to physicians or charge nurses.
  • Assess and document patient educational needs, provide psychological and social support to patients and families, and facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
  • Accurately administer and document medications, and keep physicians and Clinical Nurse Coordinators informed of significant patient information.
Requirements
  • 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, Transition Nursery, or NICU.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License; Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
