Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting patient assessments, formulating care plans, and implementing and evaluating care strategies.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Adjusting care plans based on patient responses and ongoing evaluations.
  • Administering medications and performing treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Delegating tasks to non-licensed personnel in line with professional standards.
  • Providing pre- and post-operative care to patients.
  • Educating patients and their families regarding care and treatment options.
  • Facilitating discharge planning in collaboration with the care team.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per healthcare policy.
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required as per healthcare policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
