Women's Services Float Pool Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Women's Services Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Women's Services department.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family, develop an individualized patient care plan, and provide family-centered patient teaching.
- Identify and correct variances from the patient care plan, and facilitate discharge planning and teaching.
- Assist with procedures such as amniocentesis, versions, vaginal deliveries, vacuum extractions, forcep deliveries, and circulate for cesarean sections.
- Complete an admission interview upon patient arrival and document the patient assessment.
- Identify changes in the patient's condition and act promptly and appropriately to report changes to the physician or charge nurse.
- Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions given upon admission and throughout hospitalization.
- Provide psychological and social support to the patient and family.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
- Accurately administer and legibly document medications.
- Keep the physician and/or Clinical Nurse Coordinator aware of significant information or changes related to the patient and family.
- Continuously evaluate the plan of care to determine need for modifications.
- Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care, and document patient responses to interventions.
- 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 3 of the following 4 areas – Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, Transition Nursery, NICU.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy.
St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas.
