Job Summary

As a key member of the University of Vermont's Human Resources team, the Human Resource Partner will provide strategic guidance and support to university leaders and employees. This role requires a strong understanding of HR principles, laws, and best practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complex HR guidance to university leaders and employees
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with unit leaders to ensure HR goals are achieved and aligned with organizational initiatives
  • Act as an advocate for employees and management, fostering accountability and collaboration
  • Partner with HR colleagues and other University partners to deliver integrated services to employees
  • Provide guidance and support for labor-related items
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 3-5 years of HR experience in a professional role, with union experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Effective written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse populations and commitment to fostering a collaborative multicultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • SPHR/PHR certification
  • Anticipated pay range: $64,000-$74,000
