Cost Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimize cost-related activities for Ideal North America.
- Oversee and coordinate cost accounting processes, analyze cost trends, and implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive consistency, accuracy, and alignment in cost management practices for all Ideal North America locations.
- Costing oversight for Ideal North America including Mexico Operations.
- Develop and implement cost accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistency and accuracy in cost reporting.
- Analyze cost data and trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency enhancement.
- Collaborate to standardize cost allocation methodologies and reporting formats.
- Lead the annual standard cost setting process, working closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of cost inputs.
- Collaborate with plant managers to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational and financial performance.
- Provide guidance and support on cost accounting matters, including inventory valuation, cost variances analysis, and cost center management.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances and overhead absorption rates, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Owns Fixed Asset management for all Ideal North America locations and prepares depreciation schedules accordingly.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to optimize production processes, streamline workflows, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Prepare cost-related reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for cost optimization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cost accounting and manufacturing cost management and incorporate relevant insights into Ideal's cost management strategies.
- Provides development, standardization, and documentation of cost processes and reporting for Ideal North America.
- Performs financial and operational analysis as needed.
- Tracking, trending, modeling, variance analysis for Ideal North America business.
- Identifies and drives lean initiatives/cost saving programs for Ideal North America.
- Process documentation, risk identification, audit, SOX.
- Oversight Fixed Assets Management for Ideal North America.
- Implementation of new financial systems and reports.
- Coaches and/or mentors Sr. Cost Accountant.
- Coordinates with other divisional finance teams on intercompany costing initiatives.
- Coordinates with other divisional finance teams on adherence to transfer pricing policies.
- Requires a bachelor's degree.
- Four to seven years cost and financial accounting, forecasting, and analysis.
- MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
- Standard cost accounting, bill of materials, cost, and inventory reporting.
- Strong project management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading cost optimization initiatives and process improvement projects.
- At least 5 years' experience in a supervisory or manager role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to multi-task effectively.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Work as a team player.
- Self-motivated and positive attitude.
- Experience with ERP systems and cost accounting modules, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools.
- Requires the physical dexterity to utilize computer equipment; and may sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Will stand, walk, and occasionally climb stairs and lift light to moderate weight objects (up to 30 pounds) coupled with clearly communicating in English.
- Maintaining regular attendance and work required overtime sometimes without prior notice.
