Overview:
Eaton's Electrical Sector is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Machining to enhance our operational efficiency. This role involves collaboration with various teams to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and product engineering teams to streamline machining operations for both new and existing components.
  • Drive process enhancements, conduct machine capacity studies, and oversee equipment selection and qualification to uphold safety and quality standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve machining equipment challenges, working closely with maintenance teams and service providers to minimize downtime.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives and root cause analyses to address quality concerns in production.
  • Develop CNC programs as necessary to support manufacturing needs.
  • Champion site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with equipment guarding standards.
  • Provide training to machine shop staff on setup, operation, programming, and maintenance of machinery.
  • Monitor and enhance cycle times and process capabilities within the machine shop.
  • Implement cost-reduction strategies and productivity improvements through continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean methodologies.
  • Create and update process documentation while exploring new tooling and methodologies.
  • Manage capital projects and budgets related to equipment upgrades and safety enhancements.
  • Calculate production and labor rates, along with material costs, to generate manufacturing insights.
  • Collaborate with employees to assess CNC machining and tooling rates.
  • Work with tooling suppliers to ensure optimal tooling usage and develop advanced cutting tools for specific applications.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including G-Code programming for mills and lathes.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Mastercam and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol and G&M programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment.

Skills:
  • Strong desire to engage in hands-on work within a machine shop environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including milling, turning, and grinding.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Six Sigma green or black belt certification is advantageous.
