Under the guidance of the Sr. Manager, Global Advanced Manufacturing Technology, you will be responsible for designing and executing sustainable, robust, and reliable complex manufacturing processes aimed at meeting ambitious cost, quality, and throughput targets.

This role operates within a collaborative team setting, utilizing engineering expertise to aid in the development and production of power tool electric motors.

Manufacturing Process Development:

  • Preferred familiarity with production assembly processes, including
    • Ultrasonic welding, Automation, etc.
  • Innovate solutions and implement sustainable, reliable manufacturing processes.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and experience with process evaluation tools such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PFMEA, DFMEA, statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout, and other relevant engineering methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Platform Development & NPD Design Engineers to assess and recommend product designs for enhanced manufacturability.
  • Lead the development with equipment suppliers to deliver tailored processing solutions that meet objectives.
  • Investigate and assess new technologies and groundbreaking processes to enhance competitive manufacturing advantages.
  • Utilize prototyping techniques to create and prepare engineering samples for testing and evaluation.
  • Conduct various calculations and software-assisted analyses to validate process reliability, capability, and sustainability.
  • Provide multiple scenarios to identify the optimal total cost solution, focusing on financial impacts and delivery timelines.
  • Emphasize fixture and gaging design, employing 3D CAD software.

Project Management Skills:

  • Lead manufacturing initiatives, offering direction, guidance, and engineering expertise to team members.
  • Facilitate project progression through regular communication with engineering, manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to present project status updates to teams and management.
  • Contribute insights with cross-functional teams regarding baseline staffing and skillset requirements in relation to process complexity.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment and challenge the status quo to drive optimal solutions for the business.
  • Oversee operations milestone delivery through the VIGOR process.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for machine and/or concept evaluations
    • Estimated travel: 10%-20% annually, with most trips lasting 1-2 weeks and potential weekend travel.
  • Ability to assimilate new technical information.
  • Hands-on involvement with upcoming engineering projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Preferred advanced skills in new process development, particularly in Ultrasonic Welding.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Solidworks/AutoCAD/NX.
