Social Service Assistant

Join Axesspointe Community Health Center as a Social Service Assistant and contribute to providing a safe and stimulating environment for residents.
Job SummaryThe Social Service Assistant will work in conjunction with Senior Social Service staff to provide exceptional service standards and professional practices. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the efficient running of the facility and its therapeutic programming.
- Answer phones, direct inbound calls, and take messages.
- Keep the front office organized and maintain a list of office and facility supplies.
- Conduct regular fire drills and check fire extinguishers monthly.
- Assist with clerical responsibilities, such as thank you letters and client file documentation.
- Prepare rooms for incoming residents and contact vendors regarding facility needs.
- Maintain and update medication logs, receive and process donations, and ensure timely adherence to designated shifts.
- Complete proper documentation and reporting procedures, track therapeutic attendance, and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
- Accompany residents to appointments and foster positive working relationships with other staff members.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal fire regulations and procedures and report timely for all assigned shifts.
- Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and display caring and compassion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of community services and Microsoft Word skills.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background checks.
