Job Title: Social Service Assistant

Family Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Service Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and stimulating environment for residents.

Job Summary:

The Social Service Assistant will work in conjunction with Senior Social Service staff to provide support and guidance to residents. This includes assisting with daily tasks, providing emotional support, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the efficient running of the facility and its therapeutic programming.
  • Answer phones, direct inbound calls, and take messages.
  • Keep the front office organized and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct regular checks on fire extinguishers and refrigeration temperatures.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, such as thank you letters and client file documentation.
  • Prepare rooms for incoming residents and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding facility needs and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor and maintain medication logs and ensure timely adherence to designated shifts.
  • Complete proper documentation and reporting procedures as needed.
  • Prepare meals for residents and track therapeutic attendance.
  • Accompany residents to appointments and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal fire regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and display caring and compassion.
  • Excellent communication skills for team members and clients, even in stressful situations.
  • Willingness to learn client-centered models and conflict resolution; ability to manage crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of community services and ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Ability to meet agency requirements for criminal background checks and possess reliable transportation and a phone.
Salary:

$15/hour
