The Social Service Assistant will provide support to residents in a safe and stimulating environment, working in conjunction with Senior Social Service staff to maintain excellent service standards and professional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the efficient running of the facility and its therapeutic programming.
  • Answer phones, direct inbound calls, and take messages.
  • Keep the front office organized.
  • Manage office and facility supplies.
  • Conduct regular fire drills and check fire extinguishers.
  • Log and process donations.
  • Ensure timely adherence to designated shifts and make arrangements for shift coverage.
  • Complete proper documentation and reporting procedures.
  • Prepare meals for residents and track therapeutic attendance.
  • Accompany residents to appointments and promote anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Foster positive working relationships with other staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and display caring and compassion.
  • Excellent communication skills for team members and clients.
  • Willingness to learn client-centered models and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of community services.
  • Microsoft Word skills and ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Reliable transportation and a phone.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in crisis intervention preferred.
