Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team at Amtec Inc. as an Environmental Health Safety Coordinator. This role will provide critical support to our manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as our company's EHS policies.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations practices adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Training and Development: Develop and coordinate training programs to support our Zero Harm vision and policy.
- Risk Management: Identify potential losses, evaluate risks, and develop corrective actions to prevent or mitigate losses.
- Contractor Management: Work with IT, Maintenance, and Operations personnel to ensure contractor compliance with policies and safety requirements.
- Procedure Development: Create, implement, and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and operating procedures to ensure safe work practices.
- Auditing and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Emergency Preparedness: Maintain Emergency Preparedness Plans and Procedures, including Business Continuity Plans (BCPs).
- Permitting and Reporting: Coordinate with the Operations team on regulatory programs and applications, and ensure compliance with permit reporting requirements.
- Audits and Surveillance: Coordinate ISO 14001 and 45001 external registration/surveillance audits with the Quality Manager.
- Incident Investigation: Review accidents and incidents, conduct investigations, and develop corrective actions with the Operations management team.
- EHS Audit Process: Manage the EHS audit process and risk assessments, and conduct training needs analysis with EHS Committee auditors.
- Workman's Compensation: Work with Human Resources to document and manage workman's compensation claims and cases.
- Emergency Response: Lead the Emergency Response Teams to execute and comply with USA emergency response policies and procedures.
- Education: Associate degree in Environmental, Safety & Health or business, or related experience and/or training.
- Training and Certifications: Safety and health professional training/certifications, OSHA Compliance certification, ISO 14001 and 45001 internal auditor training, and Workman's Compensation Claim and Case Management training.
- Core Competencies: Team player, flexible to change, strong written and verbal communication skills, good investigative and problem-solving skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
