Job Overview

General Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the effective installation, repair, and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment.

This position operates under general oversight, allowing for independent development of work strategies and sequences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts minor repairs and diagnostics on HVAC systems; collaborates with contractors for significant repairs; manages automation systems.
  • Executes plumbing diagnostics and repairs; performs minor pipe repairs, resolves backups, installs new fixtures, and supervises plumbing contractors on larger projects.
  • Handles electrical tasks including the replacement of ballasts and lamps, performs minor electrical repairs, and manages installations from 277 volts to lower voltages; partners with electrical contractors for new installations and major repairs.
  • Coordinates with contractors and facility management to strategize and execute projects based on various requirements.
  • Regularly inspects building systems to ensure optimal operation, fluid levels, and compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborates with contractors on larger initiatives; oversees their work and ensures compliance with standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs miscellaneous repairs within the office environment; assists in relocating and assembling office furniture; conducts sheetrock repairs and painting tasks.
  • Prepares mechanical systems for state inspections.
  • Documents daily activities and compiles annual reports on projects requiring attention or completion.
  • Engages in related tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by specialized training equivalent to one year of college in technical studies or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in building maintenance, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or a closely related field.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • EPA Certification is preferred.
