Job Summary

The Arkansas Government Job is seeking a highly skilled Statewide Program Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for performing specialized duties within a program or project and providing technical assistance to state agencies and institutions of higher education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discuss and resolve routine and non-routine issues and problems with departments.
  • Review, analyze, and process requests, and meet with requestors to gather additional information.
  • Provide technical assistance on a wide range of topics and issues, including personnel procedures, best business practices, fiscal laws and regulations, and compliance with established state guidelines.
  • Participate in the review and development of legislation, policy, procedure, action, and guidance in the area of expertise.
  • Coordinate routine and non-routine process requests and actions with other TSS offices and sections.
  • Assist agencies and institutions of higher education with requirements and justification, and prepare or enter system information.
  • Perform analytical reviews of requests to ensure the accuracy of data and diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Respond to executive and legislative information requests and represent the office at meetings as required.
  • Prepare written and electronic communication items for departments.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in personnel management, public administration, business administration, or a related area, and one year of progressively more responsible experience in personnel/human resource management or a related area.

Additional requirements may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
