DHS Program Specialist

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Program Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and evaluating human service programs to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Research and analyze existing and proposed state and federal laws related to specific DHS program areas
- Prepare reports on the impact, implementation, and evaluation of such laws
- Review records and reports to determine service effectiveness and policy compliance
- Develop program plans, policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms
- Investigate complaints and identify program deficiencies
- Prepare corrective action plans and implementation procedures
- Conduct follow-up reviews to ensure corrective action plans are implemented and evaluate their effectiveness
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field
- Two years of experience in social or community service program activities or a related area
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
