About the Role

The eBay Collectibles Team is in search of a Category Strategist for US Trading Cards to work alongside our top sellers and support them in reaching their Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) and profitability goals. You will engage externally with sellers and brands, as well as internally with Product Teams, Marketing, and Analytics, to propel our business objectives forward. In collaboration with the Collectibles Team, you will broaden our offerings, enhance trust with our customers (both buyers and sellers), and deliver an exceptional collecting experience.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement the annual operational strategy for your sellers. Assist them in understanding the factors that affect seller performance on eBay and guide them in executing the strategy.
  • Work closely with your sellers to pinpoint selection opportunities to curate a diverse inventory of cards and memorabilia for our clientele.
  • Manage eBay's buyer and seller trust metrics through initiatives that bolster customer confidence in transactions on eBay.
  • Engage with consumer insights, sellers, and buyers to identify customer challenges and communicate their implications to cross-functional teams for resolution.
  • Analyze the business to understand key drivers and regularly report on essential business metrics such as conversion rates, average selling price (ASP), top buyer/seller growth, listing growth, lead time, customer satisfaction (CSAT), and more.
  • Establish a 52-week calendar that outlines significant retail moments and seasonal events to enhance relevance, visibility, and GMV growth through collaboration with the merchandising team.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment. Experience in merchandising or startups is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred or equivalent.
  • Results-oriented, growth-focused, taking initiative to drive performance against established critical metrics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the digital marketplace.
  • Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt strategies in response to changing marketplace trends.
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating with external partners.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes with third parties in complex negotiations.
  • Expertise in delivering executive-level presentations and communications.
  • Additional: Passion for Sports Memorabilia with a broader interest in Collectibles/Vinyl Records, including relevant experience and connections with key industry players.

The compensation range for this role at the start of employment may vary based on individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components, such as a target bonus, restricted stock units, and a comprehensive array of medical, financial, and other benefits.
