About the Role
The eBay Collectibles Team is in search of a Senior Category Manager for Trading Cards to partner with our top sellers and assist them in reaching their Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) and profitability goals. You will work closely with sellers and brands externally, as well as collaborate internally with Product Teams, Marketing, and Analytics to drive our business objectives. Together with the Collectibles Team, you will enhance our offerings, build trust with our customers (both buyers and sellers), and deliver an exceptional collecting experience.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement the annual operational strategy for your sellers. Assist them in understanding the factors that affect seller performance on eBay and guide them in executing the strategy.
- Work alongside your sellers to pinpoint selection opportunities to curate a diverse inventory of cards and memorabilia for our customers.
- Monitor eBay's buyer and seller trust metrics through initiatives that bolster customer confidence in transactions on eBay.
- Engage with consumer insights, sellers, and buyers to identify customer challenges and communicate their implications to cross-functional teams for resolution.
- Analyze the business to understand key drivers and report on essential business metrics such as conversion rates, average selling price (ASP), growth of top buyers/sellers, listings growth, customer satisfaction (CSAT), and more on a regular basis.
- Develop a 52-week calendar highlighting key retail moments and seasonal events to enhance relevance, visibility, and GMV growth through collaboration with the merchandising team.
Your Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities as a business owner in an online retail or marketplace environment. Experience in merchandising or startups is advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred or equivalent.
- Results-oriented, growth-focused, and committed to driving performance against established critical metrics.
- In-depth understanding of the digital marketplace.
- Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt strategies in response to changing marketplace trends.
- Experience in influencing and negotiating with external partners.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Adept at achieving mutually beneficial outcomes in complex negotiations with third parties.
- Expertise in executive-level presentation and communication.
- Additional: A passion for Sports Memorabilia with a broader interest in Collectibles/Vinyl Records, including relevant experience and connections with key industry players.
The compensation range for this role is competitive and may vary based on individual factors such as location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components, such as a target bonus, restricted stock units, and a comprehensive benefits package. Details regarding participation in these benefit plans will be provided upon receiving an offer of employment.
