Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst at SMX Corporation

SMX Corporation is in search of a Senior Financial Analyst who will autonomously provide services to clients by showcasing extensive financial expertise within our organization.

This role involves overseeing and managing the financial operations of a Task Order under a significant contract, being accountable for all financial activities related to that Task Order.

As a vital member of the program management team, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with the Program Manager to achieve overall contract objectives.

Key Responsibilities:


Oversee the financial management of multiple intricate Task Orders by delivering cost, schedule, and funding planning, along with reporting, monitoring, and analytical support to the Program Manager.

Facilitate the establishment of Task Order projects in accordance with contractual obligations and requirements.
Generate financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) for Task Order projects and adhere to submission deadlines.

Identify risks and opportunities for profit enhancement within Task Orders, providing analytical insights to resolve financial issues in collaboration with Program Management, Contracts, Procurement, and Finance/Accounting.

Conduct weekly monitoring of Task Order and manpower costs to ensure actual expenditures remain within budget and are allocated to the appropriate job number.

Ensure the accuracy of cost reporting documentation through detailed analytical reviews and arithmetic validations.
Prepare comprehensive variance analysis and reporting for Task Orders.
Track Task Order funding status, delivering timely and reliable updates on funding details as necessary.
Assist with accounts receivable during the billing cycle as needed.
Prepare accruals for subcontractors as services or goods are received, in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses on Task Orders as requested by the Program Management Office and other stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley, FAR, and all company policies and procedures related to Task Order performance and financials.

May also serve as a career manager for direct reports, including approving and reviewing timesheets and providing performance feedback.
Possess the ability to cultivate relationships across various functional teams and internal business partners.
Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong data management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.

Required Qualifications:

Clearance Requirement:
Must be eligible to obtain a clearance if required by the program.
Familiarity with all contract types (CP, T&M, FFP).
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project cost control, financial management, and contract interpretation.
Knowledge of Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) rules and guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
Ability to collect and analyze data from various sources to identify and resolve financial challenges and program risks.
Experience in managing and directing the work of junior staff.
A BA or BS degree is preferred.
US citizenship is required for work under DOD contracts.
