We are a collaborative mid-sized agency currently seeking a Lead Media Relations Strategist to enhance our expanding Corporate team.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for a Lead Media Relations Strategist to guide account teams in earned media relations strategies aimed at elevating our financial services clientele.

The Lead Media Relations Strategist serves as the foundation of a successful earned account team, ensuring we remain strategic and informed about the latest trends in the financial services sector.

Location:
Hybrid (Located in the NYC HUB) 2 Days/Week

Key Responsibilities:


As the Lead Media Relations Strategist, you will lead critical aspects of the business, guiding account teams on media strategy while serving as the primary advisor for clients and the go-to expert for earned media.

Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive media strategies, overseeing the creation of media lists and pitch materials, and cultivating valuable media relationships that yield client coverage.

This role may also involve participating as a key member in new business pitches and promoting projects to clients.

Within the broader team, you will be expected to share insights on earned media trends and best practices with the entire Corporate team.


Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure team deliverables and client communications related to earned media are met
- Establish performance standards and KPIs for client projects
- Supervise and guide account teams on media strategy and execution
- Act as a problem solver for the team and a confident, strategic voice for clients
- Drive significant media relations initiatives, approaching from a strategic perspective
- Maintain strong media connections within financial services and business sectors
- Serve as the strategic earned media representative in client calls and meetings
- Actively engage in new business activities

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4-5 years of experience in-house or at an agency
- Experience managing a team of direct reports
- Expertise in fintech and/or financial services with a strong understanding of industry and business media
- Experience and interest in B2B and corporate storytelling
