Role Summary
The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) Finance Team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Supplier Financial Risk Mitigation (SFRM) initiative. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including GPSC, Customer Care, Treasury, Technical Accounting, and Legal, to proactively manage financially distressed suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the financial stability of the supply base through financial statement analysis and risk assessment.
  • Act as a financial partner to operational purchasing and supply chain teams, providing innovative insights and strategies.
  • Lead analytical and strategic support for commercial negotiations.
  • Utilize analytical skills across diverse projects, including turnaround strategies, restructuring, and operational improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Treasury, and Technical Accounting to formulate and implement effective strategies.
  • Monitor global economic trends and assess their potential impact on GM's financial exposure.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate restructuring, investment banking, treasury, audit, or consulting with a financial focus; direct restructuring experience is advantageous.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and project management capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, including the ability to create 13-week cash flow forecasts and comprehensive financial models.
  • Strategic mindset with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and Pivot Tables.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to leverage resourcefulness and independent judgment to drive innovative ideas in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis, along with knowledge of debt structures.
  • Familiarity with Chapter 11 proceedings is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive in addressing issues and advancing projects.
  • Ability to analyze data to extract key insights and collaborate with legal teams on drafting agreements.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and building partnerships.
