Position Summary:

We are in search of a diligent and detail-oriented Field Safety Officer to enhance our safety operations. The FSO will oversee safety measures on-site, guarantee adherence to all safety regulations, and cultivate a secure working atmosphere. This role necessitates frequent travel to various project sites and demands exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.

Key Duties:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures on-site, including OSHA standards and company-specific guidelines.
  • Site Evaluations: Perform regular safety assessments and audits of project locations, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Incident Analysis: Investigate and document any accidents, incidents, or near misses, collaborating with management to implement corrective measures.
  • Training Programs: Facilitate safety training sessions for employees, including orientation for new hires, toolbox talks, and refresher courses.
  • Safety Documentation: Maintain precise and current safety records, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training documentation.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response strategies, ensuring all site personnel are familiar with procedures.
  • Risk Evaluation: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and devise strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Safety Equipment Oversight: Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available for use.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and industry standards, and revise company policies as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 0 years if educational requirements are met; 5 years if educational requirements are not met.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR Certified, or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to various job sites.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry safety equipment.
Additional Information:
  • Travel: Locally 80%, Overnight 20%
  • Work Environment: Exposure to the oil and gas, chemical, heavy industrial, and renewable fuels sectors. Work locations may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions.
