The Field Service Technician I plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional repair services on machinery, ensuring that customer requirements are met with efficiency, care, and promptness, while maximizing the value of the services provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute assigned tasks and jobs to achieve target completion times and quality metrics.
  • Accurately complete necessary documentation and access required databases (work orders, parts requisitions, safety assessments, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Dismantle and reassemble components, install and remove parts, and conduct tests and adjustments with minimal oversight.
  • Adhere to contamination control protocols and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Provide precise information to management for accurate quoting.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues, recommend repair solutions, and perform critical repairs and adjustments on machinery and engines.
  • Validate and confirm the proper functioning of all repairs and modifications.
  • Utilize general failure analysis techniques to ensure accurate diagnostics.
  • Guide and mentor fellow team members in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of engine systems, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, air tools, precision measuring instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to provide accurate information for quoting purposes.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire the necessary tools to perform job functions.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational manuals, and writing routine reports.
  • Knowledge of database management software, internet applications, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to fulfill required assessments.
