The Field Service Technician I plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional repair services on machinery, ensuring that customer requirements are met with efficiency, care, and promptness, while maximizing the value of the services provided.
- Execute assigned tasks and jobs to achieve target completion times and quality metrics.
- Accurately complete necessary documentation and access required databases (work orders, parts requisitions, safety assessments, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Dismantle and reassemble components, install and remove parts, and conduct tests and adjustments with minimal oversight.
- Adhere to contamination control protocols and hazardous materials regulations.
- Provide precise information to management for accurate quoting.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues, recommend repair solutions, and perform critical repairs and adjustments on machinery and engines.
- Validate and confirm the proper functioning of all repairs and modifications.
- Utilize general failure analysis techniques to ensure accurate diagnostics.
- Guide and mentor fellow team members in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of engine systems, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
- Familiarity with hand tools, air tools, precision measuring instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and rigging equipment.
- Ability to provide accurate information for quoting purposes.
- Must possess or be able to acquire the necessary tools to perform job functions.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational manuals, and writing routine reports.
- Knowledge of database management software, internet applications, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
- Must be at least 21 years old to fulfill required assessments.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employees may be exposed to various environmental conditions including wet or humid settings, high places, fumes, and extreme temperatures.
Occasional exposure to electrical hazards and vibrations may occur.
This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
Travel requirements may reach up to 40%.
